The Galilee Welcomes You
The green hills of Galilee - the pastoral backdrop of dramatic Biblical encounters, religious experiences, Roman subjugation, Crusader dominance, Ottoman intrigue and modem pioneering settlements.
A timeless area bounded by the Golan Heights and the Hermon range in the east, the hills of Lebanon in the north, the Sea of Galilee in the south and Mount Meron in the west. A cradle of spirituality, a breadbasket and provider for the surrounding area. In short, a microcosm of human endeavor and experience.

Galilee Nature Wonderland
The Galilee is home and host to hundreds of species due to its unique combination of geography and climate. A wide variety of pelicans, storks, raptors and waterfowls can be seen.
The Galilee is also a paradise for small mammals. The mammal inhabitants of the Galilee are varied: the rock hyrax or coney, for example, is a native. They live in packs and are found only in Africa and the Middle East.

Galilee Towns and Villages
The towns and villages of the Galilee offer a wide range of services and attractions, ranging from Safed, the spiritual centre of the Galilee, through the historic villages of Rosh Pina and Yesud Hama’ala to the recently established town of Katzrin on the Golan.
The town of Safed has been an important spiritual centre throughout history, mentioned in the Talmud and fortified by Josephus Flavius against the Romans.

Galilee Nature Reserves and National Parks
The Galilee is home and host to hundreds of species due to its unique combination of geography and climate. The Hula Valley is situated at the edge of four climatic zones and influenced by each. It is separated by mountains from the Mediterranean and offers a small paradise on the flight path of migrating birds from north to south in the fall and from south to north in the spring.
